Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

Golden Milk Turmeric Lattes are on of my favorite go to drinks! It’s the perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. Plus it is loaded with health benefits! I like it with raw cow’s milk but you can always use oat, coconut or almond milk for a vegan option. Try it and I know it will soon be a favorite in your home too!

Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

Servings 1

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups milk of choice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 star anise optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat pick, spices and syrup on stovetop until warm.
  • Pour into mug and top with a star anise for added health benefits.

Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric helps stimulate digestion by encouraging production of bile and supports the liver. It’s a potent anti-inflammatory that can help reduce chronic pain. It has extensive research for it’s anticancer benefits as well.

Cinnamon is useful in stimulating proper digestion and increases circulation throughout the body. It is also shown to help with the production of insulin.

Benefits of Black Pepper

Black Pepper is another digestive stimulant and can help ease gas and bloating. It is also a helper or catalyst of turmeric enchancing turmeric’s effect on the body and should be paired together for better absorption. Black pepper has been found to significantly enhance the activity of the body’s natural killer cells making it a huge support to the immune system.

I celebrated St Patrick’s Day with an iced Match I celebrated St Patrick’s Day with an iced Matcha latte…just kidding I make one everyday! But it did feel a little bit more festive today. ☘️ Matcha is full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and an amino acid called L-theanine that helps to reduce anxiety. It also gives me an energy boost without the jitters! 

Iced Matcha Latte 
• 1 tsp Matcha green tea
• 1 cup milk of choice
• 1 cup ice
• 1-2 tsp honey
• sprinkle of cinnamon (personal preference) 

Add Matcha to a small bowl and pour warm water over it. Whisk to remove clumps. Pour into a glass with milk and ice. Add honey and cinnamon. Enjoy and Happy St Paddy’s Day! 🌈
